Sue founded Emery Benefit Solutions, a certified woman owned business, on the premise that she would provide businesses the depth of service and education they need to successfully navigate the complicated employee benefit industry. She found this level of service lacking in other agencies; mostly due to large work loads. She brings over 25 years of progressive experience in consulting, managing, designing and servicing employee benefit programs and human resources. She is a Registered Employee Benefit Consultant and holds a life and health insurance agent and a consulting licenses.
With a strong knowledge of self funded and fully insured health insurance programs including regulatory compliance, Sue has been responsible for maintaining and servicing employee benefits /insurance plans and assisting in human resource administration/consulting for employers of all sizes. Whether a mom and pop shop or a corporation of 10,000 she understands they all have their unique characteristics and needs, and she loves them all. She enjoys working with business owners and human resource professionals in navigating the ever growing complicated Labor and Benefit regulations. She also educates people from all education/professional levels about health insurance and how to get the most out of it; to keep financially and physically fit.
Sue holds a Bachelor of Administration degree in Business Management from Northwood University. She is proud to hold a certification as a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB). She is an active member of National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), serving on the local and small business boards. She is a long time member of SHRM and its local chapter. She participates in the Oakland County Business Round table. She has created a “finances for women” program in which she instructs voluntarily for a local women’s shelter. She is active in her community of Auburn Hills and holds a seat on the city Planning Commission. She lives with her husband and cat and enjoys running and playing golf.
